CASE STUDY 1

Destructive Technology

A customer of a minerals processing plant found that the process off-gas contained high levels of hydrocarbons and VOCs that required immediate treatment. The emissions were in excess of regulatory limits, but a wet scrubber could not treat the problem.

MAIRSTech assisted the customer in an engineering consulting role, providing them with the technical knowledge and a recommendation to choose the correct package for the thermal oxidiser scope of the works.

The documented scope of work package led the customer to successfully choose and receive the appropriate packaged unit. The unit’s cleaning efficiency of 99 percent reduced overall emissions significantly.

CASE STUDY 2

A food manufacturing facility was receiving complaints from the community due to unpleasant odours coming from the plant after an increase in business. Due to the growing demand for their products, the facility needed assistance in managing their ongoing environmental impact.A customer of a minerals processing plant found that the process off-gas contained high levels of hydrocarbons and VOCs that required immediate treatment. The emissions were in excess of regulatory limits, but a wet scrubber could not treat the problem.

MAIRSTech assisted the customer in an engineering consulting role, providing them with the technical knowledge and a recommendation to choose the correct package for the thermal oxidiser scope of the works.
The new system saw a reduction of odour emissions by 99 percent. The system was designed for continuous plant batch production, with automatic commencement and shutdown of the equipment, which would extend the longevity of the catalyst’s material.
